BB no longer just stands for Bed and Breakfast.
WELCOME Ladies to the world of BB Cream, also known as Beauty Balm. Originated from the East and South East Asian markets, typically they are mineral based and used to cover and treat blemishes. It is known for the illuminating effect it creates allowing your skin to look dewy and youthful.  This cream is exactly what women of all ages have been looking for and I am speaking from experience. Fountain of youth…FOUND!

While several brands have attempted a version of the trending cream, only some have perfected it. Like any new addition to your makeup bag, it is important you find the right kind for your skin. I have found most BB creams are thick and this is great for women who love their foundation; however, if you like minimal coverage there are some brands like Dr. Jart and Clinique (both available at Sephora) that have a light weight consistency. One surprising brand that has topped multiple lists is the Estee Lauder Day Wear BB Cream (available at Nordstrom and Macy’s). After trying it, I found that it is very similar to my personal favorite, Jane Iredale (available at Nordstrom or JaneIredale.com). This cream is thick and I do not wear heavy makeup, so I dilute it with hint of water and covers perfectly. The coverage is perfect and everything goes on smoothly over it.  Both products have a slight fragrance to them at first that does fade.

If you are convinced into venturing the world of BB Creams, I would start with the brands that you trust or use on a consistent basis. Enjoy finding your Fountain of Youth and be sure to let me know what you think!
